Far East Movement

  • The Far*East Movement (also known as FM) is a rapping, songwriting, and music event producing group formed in 2003 in Los Angeles, California, consisting of Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif, and DJ Virman
  • The original members of Far East Movement, Kevin Nishimura, James Roh and Jae Chung grew up in the Koreatown of Los Angeles, California
  • They were close companions in high school and shared a passion in music together
  • They promoted their music online and began performing at local clubs and events in Los Angeles
  • In 2001, they began their musical career with the name "Emcee's Anonymous"
  • However, they later changed it to Far East Movement, originating from a song that they produced and titled as "The Far East Movement"
  • In February 2010, Far East Movement signed a major record deal with Cherrytree Records, a subsidiary of Interscope Records
  • Progressing further along in the same year, the group supported Robyn and Kelis on their double headlining tour along with Dan Black, in addition to being announced as the opening act of Lady Gaga's tour on the Japanese leg of The Monster Ball Tour
  • FM has been working with the Stereotypes and artists such as Jin Tha MC, Bruno Mars, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Rob, Baby Bash, Natalia Kills, One Block Radius, LMFAO, The Cataracs, Space Cowboy, The Paradiso Girls, MURS, Hyper Crush, Ya Boy, One Republic, Lil Jon, Snoop Dogg, Pitbull, and Jump Smokers
