Mat lists U2 and The Beatles as major influences of his music. He considers Joshua Tree to be one of his favorite albums of all time.
Mat has toured with the likes of John Mayer, Sheryl Crow and The Fray.
An acoustic version of the song "Nothing Left To Lose" was included in a special all-star city called Serve2 which would benefit the innovative anti-hunger organization WHY.
His song "All I Need" was written based on two of his friends from New Orleans and their story during Hurricane Katrina.
Mat is a singer and a songwriter. He has been singing since 2003. He also plays guitar, piano, and harmonica.
He is a devout Christian.
Mat majored in literature at California State University Chico. He was also on the college soccer team.
