- Created the role of the American (later Freddie Trumper) in original London production of "Chess"
- Brother of Anthony Head.
- Was auditioned by Andrew Lloyd webber for original concept album role of Che in "evita"; role eventually went to Colm Wilkinson
- Murray Head also had a top 40 hit song wigth the single "Superstar" in the early 70s, from the original Jesus Christ superstar album in which he sang the role of Judas.
- His mother is actress Helen Shingler.
- Has two daughters: Katherine and sophie
- In an interview with Claude Rivest of the "Journal de Montreal", called "Murray Head dit se plaire dans la marginalite", Murray mentioned that he's got a daughter, and he also mentioned that he's got a daughter, and he also mentioned that she's attending univetsity.
