The-Dream: Getting His Act Together

Play The-Dream’s Duet with Kim Kardashian On “Turn It Up”

Life is full of ups and downs, and who knows this better than Terius Youngdell Nash, better known as ‘The-Dream’ in the music industry. Just a year ago, the artist was ready to end his musical career and even his life, as he later admitted to having suicidal thoughts. This, coming from an artist who has powered hit songs for artists as big as Mariah Carey and Rihanna, seems disturbing.

Last year, before the launch of his Love King album, The-Dream had told the media, “It’s the last album, period. I really would like it to be the last one if I could — in a perfect world.” And it’s not as if things have improved since. Allegations of extra-marital affairs were leveled against the multi-talented singer/songwriter, which eventually led to his divorce with Christina Milian.

But he seems to have gotten his act together and now he is fully focused on developing a brand new solo project. At the movie premiere of Justin Bieber’s movie ‘Never Say Never,’ The-Dream revealed, “Everybody’s calling for an album now, so I should have one out by August.”

But his representatives and Def Jam Records, the record company to which he is associated, remained surprisingly quiet on the subject; thankfully The-Dream was extremely talkative on the subject. The singer also confirmed that a team comprised of himself, Kanye West, Danja and Kevin Cossom are working on Bieber’s next album. “I’ve been writing, just to get ready,” he said.

The-Dream also revealed that the new Bieber album will be in the range of “somewhere between Fergie and Jesus, somewhere in between there. If I can get away with edgy, I would love it.”

The Rockingham-born star has been very busy the last few months fulfilling his musical responsibilities. Recently, he teamed up with celebutante-turned-singer Kim Kardashian to record a captivating duet titled ‘Turn It Up.’
