It’s hard to believe that Coldplay’s “Head Full of Dreams” is almost 1 year old already and if you just can’t get enough of the band, no worries. Chris Martin, yesterday, assured all their fans that new music is on the way. Plans are in the works to release a new EP next year titled “Kaleidoscope”.
Although the release date, track list, etc are an unknown. The EP announcement comes just weeks after Coldplay announced their 2017 North American arena-stadium tour. In case you’re wondering why the name “Kaleidoscope”, the band says it comes from another track on the current 2015 album in addition to complementing the multi-colored, spectrum-covering aesthetic of just about all of Coldplay’s related artwork since. Sounds funky.
The American Music Awards threw down at the Los Angeles Microsoft Theater Sunday night and while it was an awards show, some might have thought it was a political campaign stop. Many a joke was thrown Donald Trumps way but the highlight for us was an emotional speech my Selena Gomez.
“I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down,” she said.
“But I kept it too much together to where I let myself down. I had to stop, because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside.
“I don’t want to see your bodies on Instagram,” she said, indicating her heart. “I want to see what’s in here.
“I’m not trying to get validation, nor do I need it any more. All I can say is I’m so grateful that I have the opportunity to be able to share what I love every day with people that I love.
“But if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken. That’s one thing you should know about me – I care about people. And this is for you.”
Lady Gaga actually broke down and cried while Hailee Steinfeld hugged Selena as she left the stage.

…..If he had voted!
Kanye last night told the concert goers at his Saint Pablo Tour show in San Jose that “I would have voted on Trump”. He didn’t vote though so why even say anything?
At a cost of several songs, Kanye went on a 40 minute political rant about about the paradigm shift. More or Less Kanye praised Trump for providing the disruption Washington needed.
“Whether you voted for Hillary or Trump, this is a safe space for both of you,” he told the audience
He also reiterated his desire to run for president in 2020, saying his focus would be on education and that his campaign would use a different political model. We all can’t wait. After the Trump win, anything’s possible right?
The attitude at the show was very mixed. Kanye was apparently happy when one woman screamed that she loved him in spite of his appreciation of Trump’s campaign, but there was also a lot of booing, stunned silence and even a few projectiles – one of which was a Yeezy shoe, which Kanye promptly signed and returned to the thrower. Gotta love Kanye.
The Rolling Stones will have been invited to perform for Donald Trump’s Presidential Inauguration in January.
If this offer is true, it’s really hard to believe, given a history of hatred between The Donald and and the Rolling Stones. But maybe Trump is trying to make nice, and there’s an opportunity for the Stones to unify warring factions.
Rumor has it Trump could be paying the Stones upwards of $5 million dollars, probably more since during the campaign, Justin Bieber was reportedly offered $5 million to play a Republican event. That offer was declined, following rumored manager Scooter Braun. Must be nice to turn down 5 Million dollars huh?
There are certainly other artists that have been supportive of a Donald Trump presidency. But the Stones are not only popular, they’re in great performing shape with the 73-year-old Jagger able to dance effortlessly on stage.
The Rolling Stones have not responded to an inquiry regarding the reported invitation but you can be sure we’ll let you know if they decide to pull the trigger.
Boeing has contributed $150,000 towards the creation of an interactive website to comprehensively promote local Music events and venues in Chicago.
Initially focused on Jazz music with a game plan in the works to expand and cover other genres, a new website collaboration project with Boeing and local music locations in Chicago plan to provide visitors a comprehensive website to help visitors find out who’s playing, where and when.
“There’s a need for an aggregator,” says Tracie Hall, Chicago Community Investor at Boeing. “A place that not only shows what’s playing where, but that brings the music community together – owners and operators and audiences, (where people can) look at the information, talk together, build this online community. The city of Austin [Texas] is able to portray itself as Music City, just by saying, ‘We’re the musical capital of the world.’ [However] in Chicago on any night, we have the same or more than Austin.” Continue reading Boeing backed Music Website to Highlight All Local Music Events in Chicago »
