Wale the next Kayne West? Rick Ross says yes.

Rick Ross must have been disappointed after not being able to sign 2010’s breakout MC Wiz Khalifa, who rejected Ross-owned Maybach Music Group’s advances in favor of Atlantic Records. But as things turned out, the Miami MC isn’t complaining, after seeing his own prodigy ‘Wale’ shine.

Ross believes Wale’s potential is of the same level as of Kanye West and Yeezy, Wale also has an unorthodox style that could eventually make him as big of a star as West. In an interview with MTV, Ross boldly predicted that Wale is destined to emulate Kanye’s success one day.

Ross, who recently signed both Wale and Meek Mill, said that both his new acquisitions may be a little different than what is being heard in the music industry at the moment, however both appear to feel very comfortable in their enviroment.

Play The-Dream’s Duet with Kim Kardashian On “Turn It Up”

Life is full of ups and downs, and who knows this better than Terius Youngdell Nash, better known as ‘The-Dream’ in the music industry. Just a year ago, the artist was ready to end his musical career and even his life, as he later admitted to having suicidal thoughts. This, coming from an artist who has powered hit songs for artists as big as Mariah Carey and Rihanna, seems disturbing. page go The Dream: Getting His Act Together Continue reading The-Dream: Getting His Act Together »

90’s Hip-Hop Music

public enemy 90’s Hip Hop Music Hip-Hop, also known as rap, is a musical genre that was derived from the hip-hop culture. It originated in the 1970’s in The Bronx, New York. Hip-hop became a famous musical genre because it allowed the urban youth to freely express themselves. The 1990’s were the Golden Age of Hip-Hop in a way, so let’s take a look back at the 90’s and reminisce about this genre’s success during that era.

Hip-hop in the 90’s was all about expressing politically conscious views in a manner that was smooth and effortless and was assisted by soft bass beats and melodic synthesizers.

In the mid-90’s, a rapid change in the hip-hop culture occurred, and some of the purists saw it as degenerating to the hip-hop culture. This rapid change was the transition into “commercial hip-hop”. It was slowly deteriorating what the emcees in the 80’s built – a culture of music, creativity, artistry and dance wherein they expressed themselves and delivered a clear and positive message to the world. page go 90’s Hip Hop Music  Continue reading 90’s Hip-Hop Music »

Choosing Workout Music

Workout Music

It is natural that you have some favourite songs that you listen to when you work out or exercise. Music can be good for relaxation, but by choosing songs with the proper tempo and beat characteristics, it also makes your heart beat faster and makes your body more willing to undergo the physical stress of exercise. Exercise is pretty much like dancing; who would like to groove without music? The same principle applies when you work out.

If you are a music lover, music is connected to every aspect in your life. You might have a favourite song for whatever activity you’re doing: waking up, cooking song, dropping off to sleep, driving and so on and so forth. If you love exercising and working out, then it just follows that you have a song or two for that as well.

3 “Top 40” Songs for Exercising

  • Keri Hilson & Lil Wayne – Turnin Me On
  • Hey Monday – Homecoming
  • Benny Benassi & Channing – Come Fly Away

These are all relatively new songs with a common characteristic: their upbeat tunes (which is the reason why a lot of people are choosing these songs as their favorites for working out). These songs help them to keep on moving and give them the push and motivation that they needed. But aside from these things, these songs offer something more which will be beneficial for their health.

The biggest advantage of mixing music with your workout is that up-tempo music helps to stimulate cardiovascular activity; if the music is good, it will not only stimulate you to do the workout but it will also stimulate your rate. Your blood circulation will be better and your workout will be more effective, resulting in enhanced weight loss.

For best results, note that the speed of the music should be from 118 to 122 bpm, or Beats Per Minute. Your workout playlist should also be designed to accommodate a full workout, starting slowly and allowing your body to adjust and adapt to the activity before increasing in intensity. After a warm-up period, the beat will increase and encourage quicker movements. After the workout is complete, the music should slow down again for a cool-down period to allow the body to relax.

Music has a lot of uses in our lives. We can listen to music if we want to relax. If a person wants to be energized and to be encouraged to keep on moving, music can be used as a cardiovascular stimulant. It helps when the gym that you are a member of always has good music playing in the background…if not, fire up your iPod Touch or iPhone and use 977music’s app to play your workout music.  Your mood will immediately be set. Adding music to an otherwise tiresome activity of working out and exercising will make a more worthwhile experience…it might even become fun.
