James Hetfield On Former Addictions, Getting Clean

One of Metallica’s front men, James Hetfield was a guest on Joe Rogan’s podcast for an interview in terms of his past and how he overcame his struggles. It was revealed that James almost lost his family before checking into rehab 15 years ago. Luckily for music lovers, his family, and ultimately himself as well, James was able to get sober and correct his life, which has been better ever since.

In his interview, Hetfield explains that fear was a huge driver of his lust to get clean and save his life, and protect those around him. Fear was the driving concern, stating that he didn’t want to lose his family based on something that happened on tour, and brought back home with him. His reasoning for this dealt with the notion that he didn’t want his hard work and dedication to go away, due to how much time and effort had been put into it.

“[My wife] did the right thing, she kicked my ass right out of the house and that scared the s—t out of me. She said, ‘Hey, you’re not just going to the therapist now, and talking about this, you’ve got to go somewhere and sort this s—t out,’”

Hetfield explains that the success of rehab came from being broken down for 7 weeks, to basically nothing. Being rebuilt was the key component there and made him understand that his life was far too important to give up based on something that was once fun, but became an addiction.

Kanye West CANCELS Euro Tour

As if Pablo hadn’t disappointed enough fans in the last few months, another stint with his Saint Pablo Tour will sure have his fans fuming at the ears, waiting for their moment to charge. We’ve learned that now Kanye has officially cancelled his tour in the UK. This comes weeks after his release from the UCLA medical center where he was hospitalized after a breakdown. This originally put the US portion of his tour on hold as he was evaluated and eventually released, but it seems as if the extended stay has long-term effects.

Kanye’s arsenal of people have contacted representatives at Live Nation and have asked that his second leg which was predominantly scheduled for Europe, be put on immediate hold. Larger stops within the tour included huge cities such as Paris, the U.K, and major parts of Germany. In theory, the cancellation isn’t the biggest issue in the world, seeing as no official dates had actually been set, thus physical and digital tickets were never actually sold. Though fans might be upset, this type of thing is actually covered under West’s insurance plan, which cover him for lost profits and expenses due to cancellations of a show… not that money was actually made yet.

With questions surrounding his overall health and wellbeing, there is much left to the imagination when it comes to the possible return of the Saint Pablo tour this year. If Kanye does indeed follow through with his plan to orchestrate more shows, you can bet that they’ll sell out almost immediately, and fans will be lining up early to snag their floor seats.

Nine Inch Nails New EP Dropping THIS WEEK!

Friday, December 23rd will for sure be an exciting day for Nine Inch Nails fans, as their newest EP will drop worldwide for fans to listen to and download. This will have been the first release from the band since 2013, which was a studio album entitled Hesitation Marks. Cutting it close to the end of the year, this EP comes after a promise made by Trent Reznor that the band would put out new material before the end of the year had come. With eight days left before 2017, Not The Actual Events seems like they’re playing it pretty close to the chest!

The five track EP was recorded by Reznor and Atticus Ross. In addition to being released through a number of modern mediums, the album will also be available via 180-gram one sided vinyl, with pre-orders open via the band’s website. Reznor also goes on to state that the EP tells a story, and that five songs was the absolute perfect length to do so.

Within this release also comes the notion of a limited edition vinyl of the 1999 album The Fragile. This will include 27 tracks, with instrumental and alternative versions of classic songs, as well as a few goodie ‘unreleased’ tracks. This is paired with what Reznor states as mastered audio, recreation of artwork, and some surprises along the way. Many things that won’t be noticed, but mattered to the band above all else.

Not The Actual Events is sure to be a classic album that continues the legacy of NIN, as they’ve continued to produce quality music that traces back to the late 1980’s.

Ed Sheeran Album On The Way?

Famed singer Ed Sheeran hinted at new music on Instagram, which comes two years after his ‘x’ album in 2014. Many fans have been trying to decipher what his post means, though the indication is obvious that new music is on the horizon. When this album will release is anyone’s best guess, but we have a hunch that it’ll be sooner than later. What it also odd is this happened on Taylor Swift’s birthday, which may hint at another feature with both of them working on music collaboratively.

Ed changes his profile picture on all 3 social media handles to a shade of blue. This comes one year after a hiatus from the outlets, which caused an even bigger stir within the music community who so closely follows him. Amy Wadge who has worked with Sheeran on a number of projects hinted in an interview that his third LP will be releasing ‘very soon’ and will obviously make headlines and some top 200 charts. She also went on to say that he’s been preparing for this album for nearly a year.

Sheeran took a break from the music world last year when he concluded that he needed to utilize the time for family and other matters that have passed him by since his introduction to the limelight in 2012. Coming through on his promise, this tease comes one year after his hiatus and is an indication of great things to come, especially music. He is most known for his songs ‘Photograph’, ‘Thinking Out Loud’, and his duet with Taylor Swift ‘Everything Has Changed”.

Is There ANOTHER Rolling Stones Album On The Way?

Seeing as it’s been almost 11 years since we’ve seen a Rolling Stones album, it’s only fitting that after their most recent drop “Blue and Lonesome”, another album might be on the way. The first album which only featured covers of other songs has already bolted to, and may hold a spot at #1 in the U.K, as they’ve done multiple times throughout their career. Even more impressive was that Blue & Lonesome was recorded in just three days.

With this one a week old, new information has suggested that the band is looking forward to Volume #2. Keith Richards tells The Guardian that the original album happened by accident, and the bulk of it was recorded in just two days. Also suggested was late keyboard player Ian Stewart was sending a message from above.

With new reports now suggesting that volume 2 is in the works, it leaves a lot up for discussion in terms of the material that may or may not be released. According to the band, they were also recording an entirely new album of material, which would conflict the reports of a second cover album to follow this one. In terms of rock ‘n roll, anything is possible, right?

It should also be noted that Mick Jagger just had his SEVENTH child — no word on if this will affect the band’s ability to create or finish an album.
