Lioness: Hidden Treasures
December 6, 2011
December 6th marks the release of Amy Winehouse‘s posthumous album “Lioness: Hidden Treasures”.
Mitch Winehouse, Amy’s father stated, “The family view was nothing was going to go out unless it was comparable to ‘Frank’ or ‘Back To Black’. If it wasn’t as good as that then we wouldn’t have allowed it to go out.”
So while it was admittedly hard for the family to listen to the album, they gave their permission for the LP to be put out after deciding it was “comparable” to her previous studio albums, which included 2003’s ‘Frank’ and 2005’s ‘Back To Black’. Speaking to the Mixtape Daily, the up-and-coming MC said that Kanye West is their ‘Captain Planet’ as he possesses all the individual qualities that are the specialties of his protégés.
You all know Captain Planet and his band of merry tree huggers out to save the planet from pollution. Prynce described himself as heart, Big Sean as water, Teyana Taylor as Wind, Pusha T as fire, and saved the best character for their leader and mentor Kanye, who he thinks is a combination of special talents.

Travie McCoy’s main motive behind releasing “Lazarus” last year was to supply his fans with a collection for the ‘good times.’
Those good times marked the beginning of a great time for McCoy, who then got to tour with Ke$ha and Rihanna, followed it up with several singles that performed admirably and, in spite of the fact that a year has passed, his good times are still going strong.
Although “Lazarus” is still doing well, McCoy has realized that it’s the right time to turn his attention to his next project, “Gym Class Heroes.” Continue reading Travie McCoy and Gym Class Heroes Working on Next Album »
