Ed Sheeran Album On The Way?

Famed singer Ed Sheeran hinted at new music on Instagram, which comes two years after his ‘x’ album in 2014. Many fans have been trying to decipher what his post means, though the indication is obvious that new music is on the horizon. When this album will release is anyone’s best guess, but we have a hunch that it’ll be sooner than later. What it also odd is this happened on Taylor Swift’s birthday, which may hint at another feature with both of them working on music collaboratively.

Ed changes his profile picture on all 3 social media handles to a shade of blue. This comes one year after a hiatus from the outlets, which caused an even bigger stir within the music community who so closely follows him. Amy Wadge who has worked with Sheeran on a number of projects hinted in an interview that his third LP will be releasing ‘very soon’ and will obviously make headlines and some top 200 charts. She also went on to say that he’s been preparing for this album for nearly a year.

Sheeran took a break from the music world last year when he concluded that he needed to utilize the time for family and other matters that have passed him by since his introduction to the limelight in 2012. Coming through on his promise, this tease comes one year after his hiatus and is an indication of great things to come, especially music. He is most known for his songs ‘Photograph’, ‘Thinking Out Loud’, and his duet with Taylor Swift ‘Everything Has Changed”.

RATT Goes ‘Round & Round’ In Their Latest Lawsuit

Famous 80’s hair metal band Ratt has had two members going ‘round and round’ for some time now, in a lawsuit that has just recently seen it’s end. Former drummer Bobby Blotzer staked a claim against bassist Juan Croucier, saying that he used the RATT name to promote his other band, which is trademark infringement. According to other reports however, Croucier was still a part of the partnership that owned the RATT name, along with his former drummer, and the rest of the band.

Oddly enough, a few members of the band attempted to transfer the name to another entity in 1997, but this was ruled invalid, meaning by technicality, Croucier was still a member of the partnership that owned the name, and was legally allowed to use the name in his new band’s name.

The last twist of the story includes the other members of the band stating that Blotzer was now officially out of the band, and could only use the words ‘Former member of RATT’ when referring to himself in another music situation.

RATT was famous for their songs ‘Round and Round’, ‘Slip Of The Lip’,  ‘Lay It Down’, ‘Wanted Man’, and many more — ‘Round and Round’ peaked at #12 on the Billboard 200.

Kanye West’s Mental Breakdown Due To His Mother’s Death?

kanyeIt’s been a week and a few days since Kanye West suffered that complete and total breakdown.  First by cancelling his show at the L.A. Forum and then the following day, November 21st cancelling his entire tour and then hours later suffering the breakdown where cops were called and he was rushed to the hospital and put on a psych hold.  We may now know what caused this.  November 21st is the Anniversary of Kanye’s mothers death.  If you recall, Donda West died back around that date due to complications from plastic surgery.  He increasingly became emotional as that date approached and that along with touring, being a parent and providing emotional support for Kim who was robbed in Paris finally took its toll.  He’s also never fully grieved over his mom’s death and has always had problems around this time.  For now West remain hospitalized and sedated.  There’s no word when he will be released but regardless of your thoughts on him or his music, this was serious and we wish him luck in his recovery.

An Arrest Has Been Made In The Death Of 3 Doors Down Guitarist

Following a tragic death, an arrest has finally been made in the death of 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts. Roberts, just 38 when he died, died from a prescription drug overdose in a hotel just outside of Milwaukee. Roberts served as the lead guitarist of the band from their inception in 1996 until 2012 when he left the band for health reasons.

During his departure, Roberts stated that this was due to performing near 300 dates per year, and the band having exacerbated health and circulation issues that he was currently dealing with. He continued to mention that the band would always hold a special place in his heart, but needed to take this time off for his own health.

Police have now made the arrest of a doctor who was reportedly in connection with Roberts prior to his death. The alleged physician is believed to be from Alabama, a ways away from where his death was confirmed in West Bend, Wisc. Illegal drug distribution has been the primary charge in the case. Throughout his time as physician, Snellgrove (the accused) prescribed Roberts 5 different controlled substances in the names of different individuals, but (police) also have stated that the intended recipient of the drugs were all for Roberts.

Catch me If You Can—The RIAA on MP3 Downloaders

RIAA LogoListening to music is a hobby for most people. Unlike before when you could only get music from record stores—which, unfortunately, many people would not afford— these days, it is quite easy and convenient to just download your favorites to enjoy at your leisure without the hassle of going out and buying the album. From a consumer perspective this is cool, right? But from the music industry perspective, this creates a never ending dilemma as sales continue to decline.

However, there is a legal alternative to getting free music by logging on to the Internet and finding websites that let you download your favorite hits. That alternative is streaming Internet radio. The Internet is always on and always available (well, almost always)….you will rarely find a person who does not use it, which makes Internet radio incredibly convenient. Since music files are all copyrighted materials, Internet radio providers often display ads to pay royalties to the recording companies, which in turn grant permission to play their copyrighted works. But, you say, I want the files on my computer…so what are the consequences of illegally downloading music?

Lawsuits Overview

Who hasn’t heard about the lawsuits filed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)? These case charges were filed against thousands of Internet users from all walks of life. Its goal is not only to preserve the integrity of the copyright materials but, most importantly, to augment declining music industry sales. After realizing that sales continue to drop and that the efforts made did not create significant impact Internet users whom they sued one by one, the RIAA has tweaked their complaints a bit.

A New Route

While these lawsuits are still on-going, it is geared towards a new direction. Instead of going after each Internet user that has downloaded a music file, a letter of complaint will be sent to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). This made it more sensible and efficient for the RIAA. First, your ability to download music files is dependent on your Internet connection, hence once you are dropped by your ISP, you will no longer be able to download files. Second, collaborating with handful of ISPs is much easier than going to court to sue individuals. This initiative has allowed the RIAA to differentiate regular users from the list of illegal downloaders.

The Supreme Verdict

The RIAA has gone so far as to take their case to the Supreme Court, but because of the fact that the RIAA initiatives to stop music piracy and copyright infringement did not seem to work at all, the Supreme Court was compelled not to review the case. This decision has triggered another action from the RIAA. Instead of going after small-time downloaders, they will only go after those users who are uploading more than a thousand files. This means that even if you download copyright materials, you are safe from charges as long as you will not upload these files for someone else’s benefits…at least for the time being.

Illegal music downloading is no doubt hurting the music industry—many Internet users are attracted to the widespread availability of free music downloads online. The consequences, while currently being applied mainly to those that make music available for download, can be devastating. The RIAA has switched tactics before though, so we recommend sticking to streaming Internet radio in case they start targeting individuals again—it’s free, convenient and legal.

Internet Radio and Wedding Plans

A lot of time and preparation takes place before a happy couple’s wedding day. More than half of the planning is for the reception after the wedding. A ceremony usually lasts between fifteen and thirty minutes, but the reception can go on for hours into night. It is a time to celebrate with the newlyweds, dine, drink champagne if you are old enough, and dance the night away. Some couples choose to hire a DJ, and others take care of the music themselves. There is a lot of planning simply for the music during the reception. Here are some ways in which Internet radio can help during your wedding plans.

Planning and preparing for your ceremony and reception can be extremely stressful. There is so much to think about and a lot of people to take into consideration. You have to find food that everyone will like, a location that your family and friends will be able to go to, what kind of music people like and so on. Unfortunately, this can cause fights or panic attacks. If you are under a lot of stress or need to deescalate, listening to music can calm your nerves. Since you are probably looking up information on the Internet, you should keep a tab open with a radio channel ready to be played.

Listening to music while planning can also spark some creativity and inspiration in you. You may be inspired by a love song that you hear or get ideas for a theme when listening to a certain genre of music. Your spouse might have family from another country that has different cultures and customs. You can learn a lot about other cultures by listening to their traditional music. You can find music from all over the world on the Internet. You might even be planning your reception to have a worldly theme, and you can find music to play online.

If you are working with a DJ or choose not to hire one, you should still have a playlist for the reception. You can find fun dance music or love songs for slow dances. Listening to Internet Radio offers you to listen to a lot of music genres in one place without distractions from radio hosts and a lot of commercials. If you decide to play your own music and not hire a DJ, you can always connect your computer to high quality speakers to play music. Internet radio is perfect for this because it has fewer commercials than traditional radio, and you can easily switch music channels and genres.
