Motley Crue

Mötley Crüe is an American hard rock/heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, who were later joined by guitarist Mick Mars, and vocalist Vince Neil. Mötley Crüe is one of the best-selling bands of all time, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

The members of the band have often been noted for their hedonistic lifestyles and the persona they maintained. Various original members have had numerous brushes with the law, spent time in prison, suffered from alcoholism, suffered from long addictions to drugs such as cocaine and heroin, had countless escapades with women and are heavily tattooed. Following its hard rock and heavy metal origins, with the third album Theatre of Pain (1985) the band joined the first wave of glam metal. Their ninth and most recent and final studio album, Saints of Los Angeles, was released on June 24, 2008, and was certified Gold in January 2012. The band has embarked on a final tour, and is set to retire at the end of 2015. Their final show is scheduled to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on December 31, 2015.
