Blue October

  • Blue October's fifth album will be released in 2009 and its called Approaching Normal.

  • She's My Ride Home became the third single off Foiled and was added in May 2007.
  • The bands first album The Answers sold 5,000 copies.
  • Their album Foiled was certified Platinum in Canada and in the United States.
  • Their song Drilled a Wire Through My Face was on the Saw 3 soundtrack.
  • Blue October has been with four different record companies: RoDan, Entertainment/Scoop, Brando Records, and they are currently Universal Records.
  • The peak position for Hate Me on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks was #2.
  • Due to the growth of Calling You, Universal Records decided to re-sign the group.
  • The group signed up for Brando Records in 2003 to make the album History For Sale after being dropped from Universal three years earlier.

  • For a short time, bassist Matt Noveskey left the band but returned on time before the recording of Foiled.
  • Without any airplay and being off the road for more than a year, Blue October booked a fall 2005 tour and went across the mid-west states to prove their audience was getting stronger.
  • In the United Kingdom, there is an electro-pop synthesized band that shares the name Blue October.

  • The music from Blue October is inspired by bands such as Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Flaming Lips, U2, The Cure, The Smiths, and Coldplay.
  • Story behind Hate Me: the song is actually focused about Furstenfeld's mother dying but also about his girlfriend leaving him.
  • On the full version of the song Hate Me, in the beginning and the end, you'll hear a group of girls singing the lyrics to Calling You. At the end, a girl yells "Justin," the lead singer's first name.
  • Although as a member of Blue October, Julian Mandrake is temporarily covering Justin Furstenfeld's guitar parts as his leg was injured.
