Air Supply


Air Supply is an Australian soft rock duo, consisting of British-born singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock. They had a succession of hits worldwide, including eight Top Ten hits in the United States, in the early 1980s. They formed in Australia in 1975 and have included various accompanying musicians and singers. On 24 October 2013 the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) announced that Air Supply were to be inducted into their Hall of Fame on 1 December at the same ceremony as the annual ARIA Awards.

 

In 1982 the Now and Forever: came out on #25 US Arista Records.

In 1977 the album Love & Other Bruises: on Sony Music Entertainment.

In 1976 The album Air Supply: came out on Rainbow Records.
In 1998, Air Supply's hit single "Lost In Love" was covered by New Zealand dance/pop group Deep Obsession. It reached #1 in that country, which was a higher position than Air Supply's original in that country.
Casey Kasem had also announced that Hitchcock held the note for over twenty seconds at the end of "All out of Love" a record at the time for a top 40 song.

Graham Russell was born in Nottingham, England.
Russell Hitchcock was born in Melbourne, Australia.
Hitchcock and Russell reunited in 1991.
Air Supply Disbanded in 1988.
