Faith Hill

Faith Hill (born Audrey Faith Perry; September 21, 1967) is an American country pop singer and occasional actress. She is one of the most successful country artists of all time, having sold more than 40 million records worldwide. Hill is married to country singer Tim McGraw, with whom she has recorded several successful duets.

Hill's first two albums, Take Me as I Am (1993) and It Matters to Me (1995), established her as a popular country singer; they placed a combined three number ones on Billboard's country charts and were major successes in North America. She later rose to mainstream, crossover and international fame with the release of her next two albums, Faith (1998) and Breathe (1999). Faith spawned her first international hit, "This Kiss", and went multi-platinum in various countries. Breathe became her best-selling album to date and one of the best-selling country albums of all time, with the huge crossover success of her signature songs, "Breathe" and "The Way You Love Me". It had massive sales worldwide and earned Hill three Grammy Awards, including Best Country Album. In 2001, she recorded "There You'll Be" for the Pearl Harbor soundtrack and it became an international hit and her best-selling single in Europe. Hill's next two albums, Cry (2002) and Fireflies (2005), were both commercial successes and kept her mainstream popularity; the former spawned another crossover single, "Cry", which won Hill a Grammy Award, and the latter produced the hit singles "Mississippi Girl" and "Like We Never Loved at All", which earned her another Grammy Award.

Hill has won five Grammy Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, six American Music Awards and several other awards. Her Soul2Soul II Tour 2006 with McGraw became the highest-grossing country tour of all time. In 2001, she was named one of the "30 Most Powerful Women in America" by Ladies Home Journal. In 2009, Billboard named her as the No. 1 Adult Contemporary artist of the 2000 decade and also as the 39th best artist. From 2007 to 2012, Hill was the voice of NBC Sunday Night Football's intro song.


On September 16, 2008, Hill released her first-ever Christmas album entitled Joy to the World. Included in the album along with newly-arranged classic Christmas tunes is the new song "A Baby Changes Everything". Among the guest artists are the Nashville Orchestra, Metro Voices, and the London Oratory School Boys Choir.
Faith contributed one of her recipes to the NFL Sunday Night Football Cookbook. She, along with NFL broadcaster John Madden, also wrote the introduction to the book.

Faith was previously engaged to producer Scott Hendricks. She was also married to Daniel Hill but they got divorced in 1994.
Faith sits in the celebrity committee of the Afghanistan World Foundation, an organization dedicated to the restoration and development of Afghanistan. She is also affiliated with the charity group 4-H Club.
Faith made her debut as musical guest in the long-running NBC hit variety show Saturday Night Live in 2002.
On the first Christmas that Faith and her husband Tim McGraw had with their oldest daughter Gracie, Tim wrote a special note for Faith and put it in her stocking. He also wrote a letter for Gracie, and now every Christmas, he writes individual stocking letters for Faith and their three daughters.
In February 2007, the Hollywood Hills home of Faith Hill and husband, Tim McGraw, was burgled. The stars were not home at the time. An unspecified amount of money was stolen.
Faith is a big fan of the group Coldplay. She listens to their music just before she goes on stage. She also loves music by Elton John, Queen, and Damien Rice.
Faith Hill sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000.
One of Faith's favorite junk food snacks is a pack of barbecue chips with homemade ranch dips. She can eat a whole bag in one sitting.
Faith Hill and her husband Tim McGraw often collaborate and have had hit duets together including "It's Your Love" (1997), "Let's Make Love" (2000), and "Like We Never Loved At All" (2005).
Faith Hill lives on the same block as fellow country star, Kenny Chesney.
As of 2008, Faith Hill lives with her husband Tim McGraw and kids, Gracie Katherine (b. 5-May-1997), Maggie Elizabeth (b. 12-Aug-1998), and Audrey Caroline McGraw (b. 6-Dec-2001), in Nashville, Tennessee.
Faith enjoys playing softball and water-skiing.
Faith attended McLaurin High School. She dropped out of Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi. In high school, Faith Hill was a cheerleader and prom queen.
Faith has been on the cover of numerous magazines including InStyle, People, US Weekly, and Country Weekly. She was Playboy's "Babe of the Month" in May of 2000.
Faith was on print ads for Covergirl Moisturizer in 2001. She was also an endorser for Pepsi. edit »

Faith Hill was adopted by Ted and Edna Perry. She only met her biological mother in the early 1990s. She has two siblings: Wesley and Steve Perry.
When Tim McGraw proposed to her in one of the trailers, he had to go perform, so Faith wrote her response on the mirror.
Faith had the role of Mel Gibson's wife in We Were Soldiers, but left the film and was replaced by Madeleine Stowe.
