Before being cast in such stellar film projects as Twisted Desire, Never Been Kissed, and Gregg Araki's Nowhere, vocalist/actor Jeremy Jordan found success with his 1993 debut album, Try My Love. Featuring the hit single "Right Kind of Love," the album showcases Jordan's soulful if slight voice with a radio-ready, synth-heavy R&B production. "Right Kind of Love" was featured on the NBC series Beverly Hills 90210 with the music video tacked onto the credit sequence. The boost helped Try My Love achieve gold record status and turned the oft-shirtless Jordan into a teenybopper sex symbol. While the album does contain altogether too much filler, "Right Kind of Love"'s Todd Rundgren meets Andy Gibb melodic hook almost qualifies it as a classic of the decade.
