Josh Groban

Joshua Winslow "Josh" Groban (born February 27, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. His first four solo albums have been certified multi-platinum, and he was charted in 2007 as the number-one best selling artist in the United States, with over 22.3 million records in the nation. To date, he has sold over 25 million records worldwide.

Groban originally studied acting, but moved to singing as his voice developed. Groban attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, a free public school on the campus of California State University, Los Angeles, where students receive a conservatory-style education. His vocal coach, Seth Riggs, submitted a tape of Groban singing "All I Ask of You" from The Phantom of the Opera to Riggs' friend, David Foster.

Foster called Groban to stand-in for an ailing Andrea Bocelli to rehearse a duet, "The Prayer", with Celine Dion at the rehearsal for the 1998 Grammy Awards. Rosie O'Donnell immediately invited him to appear on her talk show. Foster asked him to sing at the California Governor's Gray Davis' 1999 inauguration. He was cast on Ally McBeal by the show's creator, David E. Kelley, performing "You're Still You" for the 2001 season finale.

Josh recorded the song "Remember" for the movie Troy.
Josh's PBS special in 2002 was the number one selling DVD in 2002.
Josh sang at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday celebration on June 27, 2008.
In high school, Josh performed in the musical "Fiddler on the Roof". He portrayed Tevye.
Josh is good friends with singer/actress, Mandy Moore.
Josh was nominated for a 2005 Critics Choice Award for Best Song for "Believe" which was featured in the movie The Polar Express.
Josh performed "The Prayer" with Charlotte Church at the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in 2002.
Josh has said that his musical influences are: Radiohead, Paul Simon, Sting, Peter Gabriel and Bjork.
Josh was in a Jimmy Kimmel video poking fun at actor Ben Affleck in 2008.
Josh recorded his Christmas Album Noel with the London Philharmonic and the African Children's Choir. The album was nominated for a 2008 Juno Award for International Album of the Year.
Josh has said that he wants to sing on Broadway one day.
Josh studied under vocal coach, Grammy-award winning producer, David Foster.
Josh performed in the Mermaid concert with Idina Menzel for Radio 2 BBC on February 16, 2007. He did a duet with Idina titled The Prayer.

Josh had the honor of meeting Nelson Mandela when he visited South Africa.
