I cannot help you with the technical difficulties, but I can tell you that there IS a limit, sort of.

This states that "Excessive listener points are defined as more than 1440 per day or 4320 on Triple Point Thursdays."
If one gets one listener point per minute, then dividing 60 minutes (1 hour) into 1440 points would equal 24 hours (one full day).
As long as you do not use some cheat or hack, you really cannot get over that limit.
I hope that gives you some insight for 977Music.com, even if it may not help much with your problem. :P

I know that I definitely got more than the limit for profile clicks and artist profile visits.
